Your past employers and supervisors, your church, clubs, former teachers and schools, neighbors ... anyone might be a link to a new job. If you are a member of any professional society, it is very likely they have an employment service. If you are not a member of a professional group, consider it !! Join and go to local meetings or conventions or seminars. Many societies have free services for members without jobs. None will reject your request for help - even if you just joined. Use HotBot, or AllTheWeb or Google.. When you get there, enter the name of your organization and then select "exact phrase", or check the latest publication and find their web page. Many professional publications have employment sections, both to advertise jobs and to advertise yourself.

Hoovers offers an excellent online service by providing Corporate Profiles of most major businesses. Their service improves all the time. Take a look at some of their special sections to learn more about what businesses are doing. They have more links to job and employer information all the time. Check out Hoover's Top Employers, Browse the job listings of Employers Search Companies by Location. Hoover's posts information about their "Company of the Week". Read this to see what company is active on the web.

Some allow you to create profiles which will automatically filter new job postings for what you are looking for and will email you a note about the job.
